Job summary
Full time, permanent position
We're looking for a dedicated Estates Maintenance Worker (electrical) to join our team and help us maintain a safe and functional environment for patients and staff at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
In this critical and dynamic role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from performing planned preventative maintenance on essential systems to responding to emergency calls for complex faults.
You will be a key part of ensuring our facilities run smoothly, diagnosing and rectifying issues in systems that include:
Lighting and power circuits
Fire alarm systemsMedical gas systems
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
Emergency generators and refrigeration
You will also play a vital role in our on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support to handle any major incidents.
Main duties of the job
Maintenance and Repair: Performing a wide range of tasks, including day-to-day repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and new installations on electrical, and building systems.
Fault Finding: Diagnosing and fixing problems in critical systems like electrical circuits, fire alarms, medical gas systems, generators, and HVAC.
Emergency Response: Providing support and responding to major incidents such as power outages, lift entrapments, and losses of essential services.
Technical Expertise: Offering technical advice to other staff and contractors, undertaking condition surveys, and using specialised testing equipment to ensure the performance and safety of plant and equipment
