Job summary

As a Lead RTT Validation & Data Quality Officer at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of patient pathway data and supporting the delivery of high-quality elective care services. Based within Corporate Operations, this role is central to monitoring and validating Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs), ensuring compliance with national Referral to Treatment (RTT) standards, and providing expert advice to clinical and operational teams.

You will take the lead in coordinating validation activity across services, supporting the development of standard operating procedures, and delivering training to staff on RTT rules and data quality. Working closely with operational managers, data quality teams, and the Business Intelligence team, you will contribute to service improvement initiatives and provide assurance to senior leaders through high-quality reporting and analysis.

This is a fast-paced, detail-focused role requiring strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to influence colleagues across the Trust. While primarily based at Rotherham Hospital, flexibility to work across sites may be required to meet service needs.

Main duties of the job

This role is about driving excellence in data quality and ensuring patients receive timely, safe and effective care through accurate pathway management. You will be the go-to expert for RTT rules and data quality, supporting colleagues across services with clear guidance, training and insight. It takes a highly analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail, but equally someone who can communicate complex issues in a way that builds confidence and understanding at every level.

Youll need resilience, curiosity and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and focus. Success in this role comes from a blend of technical skill, collaborative working and a passion for making data meaningful in improving patient care.
