Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to become part of our team of validators within the Surgical Care Group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, showing strong self-motivation and confidence. An eye for detail is essential, as the role involves handling repetitive tasks where accuracy is paramount.Applicants should possess knowledge of 18 week RTT pathways and be able to communicate clearly and professionally. Excellent computer skills are necessary, as is competence in using a variety of software programmes. While full support will always be available, candidates must have the motivation and self-discipline to manage their own assigned workload and to escalate issues when required.Although experience within the NHS and a familiarity with medical terminology would be beneficial, these are not essential requirements, as comprehensive training will be provided.Please note this role is currently only being advertised to staff members who are currently working with Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust
Main duties of the job
You will be required to use the appropriate Trust systems to accurately capture and record Patient Tracking List data. You will be responsible of ensuring each patient pathway has the correct clock starts and clock stops, achieved by validating and interpreting information from the patient journey, beginning with the first outpatient appointment, through diagnostics, treatment planning and ultimately to treatment. Where inaccurate data entries are identified within the Trust EPR, you may be required to adjust or correct these patient pathways accordingly.Working independently and using your own initiative, with support from the local Access Policy and adhering to national RTT Rules, you will analyse, interpret, and apply judgements in relation to the 18 week rules and definitions. This is to ensure that the Trust remains compliant with national targets.You will also be expected to complete the validation of weekly and monthly reports within agreed deadlines for the service and the Trust. In addition you will produce ad hoc reports following the analysis of data as directed by senior managers or the Lead RTT Validation Officer.It is your responsibility to promptly notify senior managers or the Lead RTT Validation Officer of any potential breaches of waiting time targets that have not previously been reported. Furthermore, you should highlight any systematic data recording errors or performance concerns to the Lead RTT Validation Officer to support continuous improvement.
