Job summary
The successful candidate will
manage the physiotherapists and Occupational therapists working within the care
homes team who provide support to the 36 care homes across Rotherham. They will
undertake the day to day management and supervision of the therapists and work
along side the clinical quality advisor who manages the nurses within the team.
The role also involves the clinical assessment and treatment of care home
residents and working closely with the staff in the care homes to prevent
hospital admissions and A&E attendances. The role would benefit from
someone who has knowledge of the culture of working within the care home
setting.
Main duties of the job
To provide leadership and day to
day management to the staff in the Care Homes Service and/or other staff
associated with the team
To be responsible for the quality of care and work
activities provided by the designated team
To provide clinical expertise and leadership in
the provision of therapy, having specific responsibility for the service
provision for specific area/locality.
To manage (provide assessment and treatment) a
caseload of patient/clients (at least 50% of the time) and maintain associated
records.
To contribute to the planning, development and
evaluation of services within the care homes team
To regularly supervise and appraise staff within
team. This will be on a day-to- day basis and in regular formal supervision.
