This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated neonatal nurse looking to develop their skills in education and training to support the neonatal unit in providing high quality safe and effective evidence based care to neonates and their families.
You will work alongside the Neonatal Education Lead to develop and deliver education and training sessions both as part of structured learning pathways and also as part of teaching sessions delivered on the neonatal Unit.
You will also be instrumental in supporting staff completing the Neonatal Foundation programme and facilitating the competency based learning package.
You will be work closely as a team with the Neonatal Education Lead, ODN education team and the wider education team within CYPS to deliver training and education to deliver evidence based practice.
Main duties of the job
- To work alongside the nursing staff providing clinical supervision to support the development, confidence and competence of staff undertaking the Qualified in Speciality Foundation programme.
- To be creative in designing, delivering and evaluating clinical skills training for staff in a variety of learning needs to include simulated clinical skills training.
- To be responsible for the recording of training undertaken by staff and monitor training compliance, highlighting any training compliance issues to the Neonatal Education Lead or Neonatal Lead nurse.
- To promote a positive attitude to learning and development.
- To liaise with the student placement team to support the student experience on the Neonatal Unit, provide student off duty and support staff in the use and completion of student electronic practice assessment documentation.
