Job summary
27.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join the Patient Transport Service team.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team who screen existing patient transport bookings and receive and action bookings for discharges.
The service covers the hours of 8am-10pm Monday to Friday so applicants will need to be flexible to work during any of these hours on a Rota basis.
The role mainly involves office-based work but does also involve some working from home.
Applicants must have experience of working with a wide range of people, as part of a team and possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as I.T. skills.
Familiarity of working within a hospital / office environment would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:
* The ability to work well within a team but also be able to work alone and unsupervised
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are to be part of a small busy team providing an excellent patient transport service to patients, their relatives/carers and trust colleagues. Managing transport bookings for both outpatient/day patient journeys as well as for hospital discharges, you will be a contact for accepting bookings, confirming existing bookings and managing journeys in the most efficient and effective way possible.
You will be able to work comfortably as part of a small team and at times will need to work alone without supervision.
