Part-Time: 23 hours per week, 12 months Fixed Term to cover maternity leave.

Our team provides high-quality, holistic, and family-centred nursing care to children and young people with a wide range of health needs, empowering families to manage care safely and confidently at home. All children and young people under our care are registered with a Rotherham GP and reside within Rotherham or its surrounding areas.
We support children and young people with:
- Acute and short-term conditions
- Long-term conditions
- Disabilities and complex healthcare needs, including those requiring continuing care and neonatal support
- Life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, including palliative and end-of-life care
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Registered Childrens Nurse with a minimum of two years post-registration experience in paediatric nursing. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive, and multidisciplinary team committed to delivering outstanding care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate with strong clinical and communication skills who is able to lone work and make informative decisions. You need to have good listening skills and be able to manage difficult situations and challenging conversations in a calm and supportive manner.
You will be required to manage a named caseload of children with both acute and complex needs. You will be expected to manage your own time and use your own initiative to provide evidenced based quality care.
You will be required to assess and plan the care needs of children/young people and their families in the home, visit them at school and other community settings. Your assessment and interventions will take into consideration the immediate and long term physical, psychological and social impact of diagnosis and treatment and identify the impact of this on a child/young person's development
You will act as a role model in the delivery of patient care, lead, support, supervise and teach staff and contribute to the development of the service.
A good knowledge of basic IT systems including working knowledge of spread sheets, databases, patient access systems and video conferencing skills will be key to good patient and caseload management.
You will be an advocate for children and their families, promoting child focus, family-centred care and provide effective liaison with the multi-disciplinary team and other professional colleagues and agencies involved within the child's care.
