Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join General Surgery as a Qualified (Band 8a) or Trainee ACP (Band 7). We are a well-established team of Advanced Practitioners who have been a part of the General Surgical Division for over 10 years. You will be working as part of the surgical team providing face to face patient care, leadership, expertise, advice and support to the UECC, Surgical Assessment Unit/surgical wards ensuring the provision of high quality care from the point of first contact. Our ACPs participate in teaching, service improvement, and audit and have opportunities to develop procedural skills and special interests. We are keen to appoint a Qualified ACP with previous experience in a surgical background but are happy for applicants from wider background to apply. The trainee practitioner will be supported with fully funded training to obtain your MSc in Advanced Practice through a 3 year apprentice pathway. The successful candidate will be provided with a robust induction and personal development plan to meet their professional needs whilst working closely with all the ACP as well as Consultant Clinical Supervisor/Educator. Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide clinical expertise, leadership, consultancy and collaborations to ensure that patients gain effective, appropriate and timely care. The ACP (post holder) will engage directly with the Consultants, medical staff and the multi-disciplinary team in the management of patients as a pivotal member of the General Surgery Team. The post holder will undertake advanced clinical assessment, initiate investigations and interpret their results so clinical diagnosis can be determined and appropriate treatment initiated.
