Job summary

Permanent, part time position - 15 hours per week

15 hours per week worked over 2 days. Must include Fridays and additionally the on-call rota and some public holidays.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Muslim Chaplain (Imam) to join the Chaplaincy team at Rotherham Foundation Trust.

The post requires a Muslim Chaplain with appropriate training, experience and qualifications who will work alongside Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) and within a Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Team.

The job holder will provide for the spiritual and religious care of patients and staff in the Muslim faith tradition and provide appropriate pastoral care for all, irrespective of faith or tradition.

The post holder will be part of a developing team of chaplains and chaplaincy volunteers who will work collaboratively with the team, under the supervision of the Trust Lead Chaplain.

Main duties of the job

To be a member of the multi-faith hospital chaplaincy team offering pastoral, spiritual and religious care to all patients, visitors and staff.

To provide specialist pastoral, spiritual and religious advice and care for Muslim patients, families and staff.

Maintain, participate in and develop pastoral, spiritual and religious care in the Trust through providing support, training and facilitation of reflective practice, including ethical considerations for all staff under the guidance of the Lead Chaplain.

To assist with the supervision and direction of chaplaincy support for all, including recruitment, training, and support of chaplaincy volunteers.
