Job summary

12 month Secondment until 21st April 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cancer MDT Co-ordinator/Tracker in the Cancer Services Management Team.

You will be expected to

Ensure that the function and delivery of multidisciplinary team meetings (MDT) is effective.

Provide a comprehensive administrative support service that co-ordinates MDT meetings.

Track the patient pathway to ensure that patients pathways are managed in a timely manner, adhering to Cancer Waiting Times, reporting outcomes to Clinicians and Service Managers.

Be involved in the recording of data that supports the collection of the Cancer Outcomes Data Set, Cancer Waiting Times, audit data sets for Cancer Services

Interview date 1st April 2025.

Main duties of the job

1. To maintain the accuracy of the systems for the collection of COSD- Cancer Outcomes Services Data; MDS- Minimum Cancer Clinical Data Sets, and the Cancer Waiting Times.

2. To co-ordinate and validate departmental information against information supplied by NHS Mail; TPSEC; MEDITECH, AGFA; ICE; InfoFlex; SNOMED; SEPIA; Video Conferencing; Power BI. in order to track cancer pathways and provide administrative and co-ordination of Cancer MDTs.

3. To be able to interpret information from a range of potential sources.

4. To identify and undertake analysis of detailed information from the case notes/computer/electronic systems and extract key points/results accordingly for input to the in house database.

5. To maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times ensuring that all data is kept secure and confidential in accordance with the Trusts policies.

6. To obtain and validate data for information required by various internal departments, and external bodies, e.g.: National Cancer Intelligence Team (Cancer Registry).

7. To identify when the Trust may be at risk of non-compliance of national targets and take proactive steps to resolve/prevent breaches.

8. To ensure that procedures exist to monitor individual patient progress through the cancer pathway and compliance with national cancer waiting times.
