Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and motivated individual to join our team as a pharmacy assistant. If you do not hold an NVQ/BTEC level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent this would be an excellent opportunity to undertake a recognised pharmacy qualification through an apprenticeship, whilst being paid a Band 2 salary. Applicants who do not hold a pharmacy level 2 qualification must have GCSE grade C/4 or above equivalent in English language, Maths and Science. This position is 37 and a half hours a week and participation will be required in the late night, weekend and bank holiday rota. Main duties of the job

The main focus of the role will be to provide dispensing and support service to wards and departments in the hospital and pharmacy reception duties with some patient contact. Use of IT and liaising with health care professionals will be routine aspects of the role. Whilst experience of working with medicines within a pharmacy environment would be an advantage full training can be provided. Meeting the needs of our service users is extremely important to us, and we are looking for an individual who shares our vision to deliver a high quality, service-user focused approach. To participate in all aspects of medication including the dispensing process within the dispensary and at ward level. To receive in medication using appropriate IT systems to book stock in and out. Working as part of a team to maintain workload and manage patient flow. To take part in daily duties including periods of time on reception.
