Senior Audiologist (Paediatrics)

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our award winning team. Our goal is to find an enthusiastic Audiologist or Clinical Scientist (Audiology) to complement our friendly, dynamic, forward-thinking multi-disciplinary team. We offer a full range of adult and paediatric Audiology, including newborn hearing screening, implantable devices, balance, tinnitus, hearing therapy and have an integrated, specialist Ear Care nursing team. Duties include the assessment and rehabilitation of children of all ages dependent upon experience. The role offers the opportunity to build on experience with opportunities to receive further training within specialist areas. Adult audiology skills can also be maintained with flexibility of clinical caseloads.
Main duties of the job
Dependent upon experience the main duties of the successful applicant is to provide direct patient care for either paediatric and/or adult populations including developmentally appropriate audiological assessments in children of all ages and can include those considered non-routine. The post holder will also work autonomously and perform all aspects of rehabilitative audiology. The post holder shall be experienced in communicating with service users in a sensitive and clear way and working under pressure along with being able to work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be asked to work supporting colleagues and may include student mentorship. The post holder should practice in a caring and holistic manner, helping to produce individualised management plans. The ideal candidate will be friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude to service development and be willing to support the leadership team. You will be an Audiologist with BSc or PTP (or equivalent), or a Clinical Scientist (Audiology) and must be registered with HCPC as a Clinical Scientist or eligible to register with the AHCS as an Audiologist. Evidence of further specialist training and experience in paediatric audiology in an NHS context is an advantage.
