Inpatient Therapy Team Leader

Are you an enthusiastic and committed therapist, who is passionate about inpatient care and rehabilitation and can lead our therapy team in delivering high quality care for our patients?

We are seeking to appoint a specialist physiotherapist to the Inpatient Team Leader position. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to our well established integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who provide comprehensive specialist therapy across the hospital wards including Surgery, Integrated Medicine, Respiratory, Critical Care, Coronary Care and Acute Medical Unit.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist, to further develop their clinical and leadership skills.

The post holder will lead and contribute to service development of the Inpatient Therapy team. Successful partnership working as a member of the multidisciplinary team across the wards and the community is essential.

The successful applicant will provide leadership, co-ordination and support to members of the Inpatient Therapy Team and support operational flow throughout the organisation. The Inpatient Team Leader will provide Therapy Leadership with Long Length of Stay by working in partnership with the lead matron, Clinical Manager for site and patient flow operations and the integrated discharge team.

Main duties of the job

The inpatient therapy team offer a seven day service. Within this role there will be a commitment to be part of the weekend team lead cover on a rota basis and the successful candidate must be able to work a Friday as part of their working week.

This role requires clinical expertise to providing therapy assessment, treatment to our patients.

Supporting staff within the team in the management of complexities amongst patients and discharge pathways.

To maintain the quality of care.

The post holder will have a clear understanding and oversight of the Inpatient Therapy Team on a daily basis.

This will involve sickness management, completion of rotas, team organisation and delivery.

They will also have responsibility of scheduling team meetings and sharing communication.

The post holder will have a understanding of the daily hospital pressures and organisational flow.

They will work with the wider multidisciplinary team in creating resolutions in relation to the Inpatient Therapy to minimise these pressures.

This role will link closely with their line manager in the planning, developing and evaluation of the Inpatient Therapy service.

They will also link closely with other clinical specialists within the team in the development of education and the provision of supervision.
