Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Colposcopy Secretary for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department in Care Group 3 for 30 hours per week.
We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to join our colposcopy administration team.
Candidates should possess a professional attitude to their work and have the ability to work flexibly in an extremely busy and rapidly changing environment.
You must be fully IT literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge and experience of Meditech is desirable.
This role involves:
The Production of patient/client information re letters via audio typing to assist Health Care Professionals in the day to day management of patient care.
- Working to deadlines.
- Communicating well with staff of all grades and disciplines.
- Accurately record and complete patient information, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Record keeping, updating information onto a database system for audit purposes, all within acceptable timeframes.
- Undertaking audio transcription, including medical terminology
- Liaising between Trust staff and outside agencies as required.
- Utilising IT skills.
- Receiving and dealing with telephone / e-mails in a timely and professional manner.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a comprehensive secretarial/administrative service to the Colposcopy Service within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology team.
- The post holder will prioritise and carry out their duties to ensure a direct and positive contribution to the Colposcopy Service.
- Responsible for the transcription of audio/digital files, to produce clinical letters, ad hoc letters, within acceptable timeframes.
- Responsible for making appointments as necessary.
- Responsible for updating information onto a database system for audit purposes.
