Job summary

We are a progressive department, led by a Consultant Clinical Scientist, striving to deliver modern and best practice care. A unique opportunity has arisen to lead our Cardiac Device Service in the next stage of our journey. We specialise in electrical CRT Optimisation and the assessment of CRT response. We have a dedicated Cardiac Device Suite and offer multiple Physiologist Led services such as Device Pre-Assessment, ILR Implantation and a Scientist-Led Syncope Clinic. You will be an experienced, driven and forward thinking Cardiac Device Specialist with expert level skills in Cardiac Rhythm Management. You will have a passion for cardiac devices and have the relevant experience, knowledge and accreditation (BHRS/IBHRE) to lead a focussed team of Device Specialists and act as a positive role model. HCPC registration is expected at this level and candidates must achieve this within 12months of appointment if not held already. This post is anticipated to have a 50% commitment to clinical work.

Main duties of the job

This is a leadership role and you will be responsible for the effective management, organisation and development of the Cardiac Device Service at RFT. South Yorkshire has a regional approach to Complex Devices and the post holder must be committed to this model which includes Device On-Call at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and cross-site working. We are looking for an individual with the self-motivation, flexibility and vision to drive our service forward whilst maintaining the highest standards. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills to motivate the team towards continuous service improvement. A good understanding of robust governance measures and clinical audit is required. Experience of effective leadership and managing change is essential. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with the other service leads for a cohesive approach to developing Cardiac Physiology Services as a whole. Our goal is to achieve recognised departmental accreditation via IQIPS.
