Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 6 QIS neonatal nurse to join the Neonatal team as the neonatal deputy ward manager.
This opportunity is for a permanent 12 hours per week position post within the Neonatal Unit.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be innovative and possess strong leadership skills to facilitate, support and manage staff and the service.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will support the ward manager to provide a supportive culture for teamwork and learning and will take an active role in providing effective clinical and managerial leadership of the NNU in the absence of the ward manager.
To be clinically and managerially responsible for roster allocation in order to provide safe and appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
You must have the ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines whilst having a flexible and adaptive approach in the working environment.
This opportunity will also provide the successful candidate to attend a variety of professional meetings and create positive links with the MDT and wider Neonatal network to support and deliver high quality transformational neonatal care.
You will be actively involved in quality improvement projects and developments to help drive change within the NNU whilst also supporting staff in their own quality improvement projects.
