Permanent post

12 hours per week

As a Ward Clerk you will be the first point of contact for the ward either face to face or by telephone. You will meet and greet visitors to the ward directing them to the appropriate place and communicating relevant information such as ward visiting times.

You will also ensure that computer systems are kept up to date and live. As part of your role you will be the person who liaises with other departments to ensure the smooth day to day function of the ward and reporting any concerns as they occur.

The shift times for this role are 2 six hour shifts working either 08:00-14:20 or 12:40-19:00

Main duties of the job

- Person responsible for meet and greet of visitors to the ward.

-Communicate with members of the public and other staff working in the trust either face-face or by telephone remaining helpful and courteous at all times.

- Responsible for keeping bed statement up to date and liaising with other departments to ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard.

- Responsible for ensuring adequate stocks of stationary etc on the ward. Answering the telephone and taking messages ensuring that they are passed onto the most appropriate person on time.

- Organising appointments for relatives to speak with the medical team when necessary.
