Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work within Care Group 4 at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust covering our Dental, Imaging, Therapies, Dietetics and Community Services. You will be part of the Care Group Operational Team, working closely with Clinical Leads and the Deputy General Manager to ensure operational demands for our services are continually met. You will have responsibility for the delivery of high quality, clinically effective and cost efficient services. You will also play an active role in budget management, service improvement and innovation, alongside ensuring areas such as MaST and appraisal compliance for your services.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role will be to provide business and operational support to the clinical and professional leads within the care group, alongside duties delegated by the General Manager and Deputy General Manager. You will work effectively and in conjunction with the Clinical Leads for their service areas to lead the provision of efficient, effective and high quality professional and well-coordinated services, which meet statutory, regulatory, and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the contracted activities of the Trust. You will be expected to take a lead role in providing assurance to the Senior Leadership on financial management, capacity and demand, delivery of services, including the delivery of both local and Trust-wide cost improvement initiatives and ensuring delivery of contracted activity. You will be responsible for operational management of the delivery of services and/or integrated clinical pathways, ensuring best practice in relation to the management of resources both human and material, financial, procurement, performance and governance. Contributing to effective leadership across the Care Group and assure effective leadership within the integrated clinical pathways that are within the post holders sphere of responsibility

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of key NHS targets including 18 weeks, A&E ,Cancer pathways, Urgent Community Reponses, Virtual Ward
  • Evidence of report writing and presenting skills, to include business cases and formal presentations
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans at service level that enable the attainment of divisional objectives
  • Track record of delivery against change/transformational programmes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the modernisation agenda and the opportunities for redesigning services and the tools and techniques for achieving service change
  • The ability to demonstrate in depth knowledge of key policies and themes in healthcare and social care provision in the UK
