Job summary
This Phlebotomy post will include working over 2 sites covering various shift patterns. Including Acute Trust and Breathing Space.
This service provides cover 7 days a week 365 days a year.
The above 28 hours post will be split over 2 positions.
1 post is x 16 hrs & 1 post is x 12hrs.The Phlebotomist will undergo in-service training to allow them to develop and maintain the technical, clinical and clerical skills required to perform venepuncture on selected patients including children within the Trust. They will provide high quality and appropriate samples for the various departments.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role of Phlebotomist is to provide a service to obtain bloods from in-patients on the wards and to provide an out-patients service to both adults and children.
You will need to have excellent communications skills. A willingness to learn and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Being able to work as both part of a team and also independently This post can be a physically demanding job as this requires a lot of walking around within the hospital pushing and pulling the trolleys. Also including moving and handling at times.
Flexibility is important to be able to work hours over a 7 day rota.
A good level of IT Skills is required as you will be required to use the laptops to obtain patient information to be able to perform your duties. Training will be provided on the hospital system.
