Job summary

The Maternity Department at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust who were rated as Good in all areas (CQC, September 2021) are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Midwives to join their Maternity Team. Here at Rotherham you will be supported to complete our induction package and you will be afforded full rotational opportunities. If you have particular career aspirations, we want to hear them and support you to develop in your chosen direction. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the county and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Main duties of the job

Approximately 2500 babies are born each year at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, we offer women personalised care and choice of home birth, midwifery-led care and multi-disciplinary care on our Labour Ward. We are passionate about delivering safe, high quality services to the women and families accessing our care.

Our maternity service is continually changing and evolving to meet the needs of the population and ensure women and their families have a positive birthing experience.   • Educated to Diploma/Degree level or equivalent
  • Completed Preceptorship programme or equivalent
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Documented evidence of continued appropriate studies
  • Practice Supervisor Training completed
  • Certificate of Competency for IV Cannulation
  • Certificate of Competency for IV Additives & Administration
  • Certificate of Competency for Perineal Suturing

Desirable

  • Further relevant development to postgraduate certificate or equivalent.
  • Neonatal examination of the new-born certificate or equivalent.

Experience

  • Post registration experience as a practising midwife having gained knowledge in all aspects of the pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

  • Understands Risk Management and Complaints procedures
