Job summary
Part time - 22.5 hours per week, three days: Monday, Wednesday and either Thursday or Friday. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our friendly, busy team as a part-time Senior Booking Clerk within Specialist Surgery (Oral Maxillofacial and ENT). The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills. They will be highly motivated with a keen eye for detail, and have current experience working with IT systems. They will provide an efficient and high quality scheduling service to support achieving the teams key success targets. This is a very busy role and will be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who has the ability to cope with the demands of the service.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will manage the theatre and Minor Ops waiting lists for Specialist Surgery. The role is admin and office based but will involve dealing with telephone calls, patient queries, booking patients in for their surgical procedures and dealing with any cancellations. The role involves working closely within a small team of medical secretaries, clinicians and the management team, to ensure that patients are listed for surgery appropriately. The successful individual will ensure that all procedures have been followed, providing a smooth and positive experience for patients. This is a highly responsible but rewarding position and would suit a cheerful and self-motivated person, who is able to manage and prioritise their own workload with flexibility. No two days can be the same and it can be very fast-paced with changing priorities. The team take pride in working extremely hard to ensure that patient's receive the best quality of care.
