Job summary
As a prescription coordinator you will be responsible for answering calls to patients, relatives and other professionals to process repeat prescribing requests for appliances for catheters, stoma and associated products. We expect a high quality of care to our callers and for them to be answered in a timely manner. To work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
Main duties of the job
The main duties are answering the phone calls via Netcall from patients, their relatives or other health professionals to process the repeat prescriptions for appliances for catheters, stoma and associated products. The appliances we prescribe are of a very sensitive nature, so we expect our patients to be treated with care, compassion and empathy. The role involves working with SystmOne to process the requests for all the shift, if any issues are identified by the patient it is the responsibility of the prescription co-ordinator to inform the nurse in charge on that day. The role will also involve liaising with pharmacies, and dispensing appliance contractors. We expect a professional and courteous manner with all callers, ensuring confidentiality and data protection is adhered with at all times.
