Job summary

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced CT Radiographer to assist in leading this well-established, friendly, hardworking team. CT experience and some leadership experience is essential. The successful candidate will show innovation and dedication guiding the CT service to the next level.

The current CT service has expanded due to the increase in demand with a rolling shift pattern of contracted hours over seven days including night shifts.

There have been some exciting changes for the CT department here at Rotherham with the newly developed CT suite in the acute hospital which has a new Siemens Somatom Drive Dual source CT scanner and a Siemens AS+ 128 slice CT scanner.

Also cross-site the newly developed Rotherham Community Diagnostic Centre supported by a Siemens Somatom Go 32 Slice CT Scanner. This new facility is receiving very good patient and staff feedback.

The CT Service provides services to Trauma, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, General Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Breast, Neurology and Stroke Services.

We actively support post graduate education and have Advanced Practice CT Radiographers reporting CT Head and CT Colonography examinations. We make every effort to support growth here at TRFT, looking at innovative ways to develop personally and professionally.

Main duties of the job

  • Deputise for the CT Lead Radiographer
  • Work closely with other modality leads and deputies
  • Attend meetings in the absence of the modality lead
  • Promote patient safety and governance
  • Maintain and improve quality of service
  • Perform staff appraisals
  • Daily operational management of CT sites
  • Manage sickness absence and work closely with HR
  • Assist with capacity and demand
