The Rotherham 0-19 Childrens Public Health Nursing Service are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated practitioners with initiative and drive. The service delivers high quality public health nursing, promotes healthy lifestyles and improves health inequalities to children, young people and their families in Rotherham.
You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, be willing to facilitate and support change in service delivery, have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team.
Flexible and agile working options are available. Knowledge of the current health agenda relating to children's services is essential.
You will have an important role in recognising and protecting vulnerable children and liaising with senior team members, our partner agencies such as GPs, Schools, Social Care and Police.
Successful candidates will work within the Enuresis Service and with the Lead Paediatrician in the Trust ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services to children, young people and their families. This post may require travel between homes, schools, and clinic settings within the Rotherham area.
Some previous experience of working within a community environment or with School Nursing/Health Visiting is beneficial but is not essential.
Main duties of the job
- Undertaking nurse led enuresis clinics, demonstrating in depth knowledge of enuresis and apply expert skills.
- To undertake joint clinics with the designated Paediatrician(s) with an interest in enuresis
- Complete initial and review enuresis assessments for all children.
- Devise appropriate toileting programmes and/or treatment and management care plans for children and young people.
- Act as a source of advice to carers and professionals working with young people with enuresis.
- To utilise clinical knowledge and advanced skills to assess, contribute to diagnosis, plan, implement management p[programmes and initiate treatment changes when required.
- On Successful completion of a recognised non-medical qualification can prescribe within their scope of practice.
- To request investigations through medical channels and monitor the response to treatment through analysis and evaluation.
- To make referrals and discharge as appropriate, to other clinicians and professions/agencies.
- To make professionally autonomous decisions and demonstrate accountability.
- To make specific interventions based on evidence and in partnership with children, young people and their family and paid carers and other professionals.
- This post may require travel between the hospital trust site, community settings and occasional home visits and therefore access to an independent means of travel is necessary.
