Job summary
The successful candidate will join a hard working, well established Medical Illustration Department and be part a friendly team of Clinical Photographers and Ophthalmic Imaging Technicians. Working across two local sites, a small amount of travelling between locations would be expected. The department provides Trust wide Clinical Photography to specialities including Dermatology, Haematology, ENT, Oral Maxillofacial as well as Wards, Theatres and Wound Care Photography. It also delivers substantial imaging support to the Ophthalmology Department, including Retinal Fundus Photography, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). High quality clinical imaging is provided for diagnosis, assessment, treatment, teaching research and publication. The job holder will be expected to comply with the departments protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Main duties of the job
A highly motivated and adaptable photographer will enjoy this exciting and varied role. We are looking for a patient focussed and caring individual, with a great attention to detail, producing high quality imaging using a variety of photographic equipment.On a daily basis the candidate will be expected to work independently undertaking a wide range of ad-hoc requests from clinics. Work will be undertaken either in the Departments studio or on location; wards, theatre and other clinical settings. They will also use professional image editing and Illustrative software before uploading to an Imaging Database for review.On rotation the post holder will provide retinal imaging to the Ophthalmology Department, using a variety of specialist imaging equipment. Training will be provided, however experience would be advisable.
