Job summary

We are looking to recruit a 12 month fixed term Health Care Support Worker to join our service at Breathing Space. You will join our therapy team working within our outpatient services at Breathing Space, covering pulmonary rehabilitation assessment clinics, classes and observation clinic. The Breathing Space therapy team is made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and other Health Care Support Workers. Our aim is to provide a high quality, efficient service to maximise peoples independence and function for patients with respiratory conditions We have a strong commitment to MDT working, working very closely with nursing colleagues at Breathing Space NVQ level 3 in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care or equivalent is essential. Please also refer to the Personal specification within the job description. We have a strong commitment to supervision, PDR, CPD and staff training. Experience of working within community or within acute hospital therapy teams would be desirable. Applicants must hold a valid work permit or be eligible to work within the UK. The posts are subject to Occupational Health Screening and Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure checking.

Main duties of the job

Supporting pulmonary rehab assessment and outcome measures for patient with lung conditions. Supporting patients in a gym and 1:1 setting with pulmonary rehab exercises, this includes induction, ability to identify when a patient needs to progress or regress exercises. Being responsible for the set up of gym and social groups settings, moving and handling gym equipment where required to support the smooth running of the service. Be a part of the wider MDT in managing patient care and imputing audit
