Job summary
27.5 hours per week
Responsible to the Area Lead Midwife for the provision of efficient, confidential and effective general administration support within Maternity Services.
The post-holder will be the initial point of contact for users of the Service, providing a professional approach when dealing with enquiries and to direct enquiries appropriately.
Undertake a wide range of administrative and clerical duties in respect of providing Maternity care to the population of Rotherham, ensuring recording and monitoring of patient records are in line with service specifications for the service.
Support Maternity staff, ensuring good communication is maintained at all times to provide a high quality service for service users.
Main duties of the job
Answer and deal with telephone enquiries which may be of a confidential nature and deal with visitors, which will require tact and diplomacy. Provide an efficient administrative service covering a wide range of duties. Pull patient notes and ensure these are tracked using the appropriate systems. Input / retrieve information using database as required. Liaise with staff of all disciplines within the multi-agency team, to ensure the smooth running of the service. Maintain good communications with medical staff and others, with regard to patient information
Required to purchase equipment as required. Follow Trust and Departmental policies and procedures. Will be required to rotate between labour ward and Wharncliffe Ward depending on departmental needs Use a number of different IT systems to carry out the above including Meditech, SystmOne and Agresso.
Maintain an effective filing system and ensure appropriate administrative processes are in place and updated in line with change. Provide clerical support to the Department including, scanning, photocopying and circulation of information. Stock checks and replenishment. Keep accurate and complete records in line with legislation, policies and procedures.
