Job summary

Following a current staff member taking maternity leave, an exciting fixed term 12 month opportunity has arisen to support our Care Groups.

Reporting to a Senior Finance Manager this role will support Care group 3, which is in the main Family Health specialities and associated departments as well as Pharmacy, Outpatients and Patient Access services.

This post is forward facing and will be integral in supporting specialities meet the Trusts financial sustainability operational priorities 'Deliver the financial plan for 2024/25 and deliver year 1 of the plan to return the Trust to a break-even position for 2026/27' and 'Ensure significant improvement of at least one quartile across the full range of system productivity metrics'

We are looking for positive, forward thinking, pro-active individual who thrives working equally as part of a financial management team, and working closely with a range of clinical specialties.

Opportunities to influence financial change whilst keeping the patient at the centre of decisions will be central to this role.

The post holder will be based on the Trusts main site though some travel to our other sites may be required.

We offer flexible working with a hybrid of working from home.

Main duties of the job

The new team members main duties will include -

- To understand the operational priorities and the part finance has to play, and to support finance managers strive towards this agenda

- To ensure accurate and timely information for forecasts, budget setting and monthly budget reports are produced, whilst maintaining communication with the Senior Finance Manager

- To evidence strong communication skills to influence financial decision making for the care group

- To support and develop budget holders to give them the skills and knowledge to deliver their commitments

- Alongside the team identify variances to budgets and work with the specialties to identify mitigations and/or recovery supporting innovating and sustainable solutions
