Lead Midwife for Clinical Pastoral Support

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic senior midwife to provide clinical pastoral support to predominantly newly qualified, early career and return to practice midwives at Rotherham. The role also has a focus on recruitment, retention and supporting late career midwives. This opportunity is for a highly motivated individual possessing both clinical and leadership skills. It is on a fixed term basis for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a key part of the Midwifery leadership team. They will be working across all aspects of the care pathway with the clinical leads to develop and enhance clinical expertise, skills and knowledge. The post holder will be working to systematically address the effectiveness of care through the transformation of practices and cultures, which will ultimately improve care to women and families.

The post holder will be integral to the development and delivery of a progressive learning environment for midwifery and support staff colleagues. They will work with the leadership team to facilitate continuous improvement in care using three dimensions from the Leadership Academy: Inspiring Shared Purpose, Sharing the Vision and Developing Capability.

The post holder may be called upon for rapid response work, a situation may arise where providing direct support to a team or individual assessed as struggling or demonstrating concerning practice may be required. This would include coaching to achieve competence and providing one to one support to individuals identified with a practice development need.
