Are you interested in pursuing a career in clinical research? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research Team as a Clinical Trials Assistant.

You will work with the research team recruiting patients to clinical trials and other NIHR research studies.

At TRFT we are keen to promote research as a part of patient care, enhancing patient experience and outcomes, across differing specialties and a range of portfolios, both commercial and non-commercial. We have been involved in both national and international clinical trials, recruiting patients into innovative, ground-breaking research.

You will be fully supported as you develop new skills and build on your existing knowledge and experience, with research skills and competency based training provided.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic and ready to work collaboratively in supporting an established team of research nurses and doctors in recruiting and following up patients who are participating in research trials. Liaison with external research partners such as pharmaceutical companies, research networks and clinical trials units will also be required.

  • Educated to GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent
  • Educated to A-level or equivalent standard, or through relevant experience

  • Good Clinical Practice training
  • Clinical Skills training e.g. venepuncture, recording ECGs
