Associate Practitioner, Cardiology Suite, Part Time 34 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as an Associate Practitioner This is a busy service providing specialist assessment and support for people with known or suspected heart conditions. You will be an integral member of the Cardiology team performing routine cardiac investigations which involve direct patient contact such as, but not exclusively, 12 Lead Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Fitting & Removal of Ambulatory ECG & BP Monitors, Ambulatory ECG Analysis, Cardiac Perfusion studies and assisting in Exercise Tolerance Tests. This post is suitable for newly qualified PTP students looking for clinical experience. Main duties of the job

To undertake a range of non-invasive cardiac investigations as appropriate to the role. Performs routine non-invasive cardiac investigations independently such as: Ambulatory ECG and BP Ambulatory monitor fitting and analysis, performing 12 lead ECG in a range of clinical settings, Myocardial Perfusion studies. To assist as the second practitioner in Tilt Table Testing and Exercise Tolerance Testing. To support Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic and Syncope Clinic. Works under the guidance of a Senior Physiologist. Provides assistance to the Implanting Clinician/ Physiologist during ILR implantation, monitoring haemodynamic status and providing patient information Distributes home monitors to patients and provides instructions for use Deals with basic telephone queries and seeks guidance from senior physiologists where appropriate Interprets ECG and basic haemodynamic data and reports abnormalities to senior colleagues within an appropriate timescale to maintain patient safety Documents findings/ writes basic technical reports in accordance with departmental protocols. Provides administrative support, including the maintenance of departmental databases Communicates with medical staff from within the hospital and from other centres/community for information regarding patient care To work flexibly in accordance with the department needs. Performs other relevant duties as specified by the Service Lead

  • Evidence of up-to-date CPD within Cardiology
