Calling all soon to be or newly qualified Band 5 dietitians!! Do you want to get your dietetic career kick started in an enthusiastic and innovative place of work? Come and join our award winning, friendly, supportive and forward thinking team of 27 Dietitians 4 Dietetic Assistants and Administrative team. We are a fully Integrated Community and Hospital Service.A vacancy has arisen for a Band 5 Dietitian, which spans a variety of care settings including Hospital and Community. The post is rotational across care settings and includes opportunities within a number of specialties including Surgery, Oncology, Diabetes, Paediatrics and Gastroenterology.The role will involve supporting patients and their carers face to face, in clinics, care homes and wards and by telephone. You will also be involved in projects such as Dietitians week and Nutrition and Hydration Week. You will also play an active part of delivering student training.You will be supported by dietetic assistants, specialist dietitians, team leaders and an admin team who form a large part of our department.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the county and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high standard dietetic service, including the supervision of support staff within areas of work/ rotation and any other area as service development requires.
  • To manage a caseload of patients/clients.
  • To provide Dietetic interventions in locations across the health community covered by The Rotherham NHS foundation Trust as required.
Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for equipment used in carrying out duties, adhere to Trust and departmental policy and ensure the safe use of equipment by others through teaching, training and supervision of practice.
  • To be responsible for maintaining own competency and self-development through,Active involvement in the PDR process, Active involvement in the in-service training programme, Maintaining awareness and up to date knowledge as appropriate of national and professional developments/issues, Maintenance and development of clinical skills and apply knowledge of evidence-based practice within designated areas, developing specialist knowledge of particular conditions and patient types
  • To liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated service.
  • To advise more senior staff of operational changes, trends or difficulties in the area of work.
  • To provide advice and demonstrate activities or workplace routines to new or less experienced staff within designated area.
