This is an exciting opportunity to work within care group 4, which includes Therapies, Dietetics, Community and Imaging. You will be part of the care group Leadership Team, working closely with Clinical Leads and the professional lead for Medical Imaging and the Deputy Professional lead to ensure that operational demands are continually met. You will have responsibility for the delivery of a high quality, clinically effective and cost efficient service for the Medical Imaging, physics and Illustration CSU.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role will be to provide business and operational support to the Medical Imaging, Physics and Illustration CSU clinical leads. You will be expected to have in depth knowledge of the areas incorporated in the CSU including clinical radiology, breast imaging, nuclear medicine, cardiac physiology, respiratory physiology, MRI, CT and ultrasound. You will have experience working with the operating systems of all areas and be able to query these databases to the required level to collate data and produce reports. You will be expected to take a lead role providing assurance to the Senior Leadership role on performance and finance management. including the delivery of both local and Trust-wide cost improvement initiatives. Ensure that all relevant quality and performance standards are consistently achieved, including national DMO1 standards and reporting turn around times both national and local. Ensuring the delivery of contracted activity managing service level agreements and contracts both internal and external to the Trust. You will assist in the development of a modern, patient-focused service. You will work alongside the professional lead and the Deputy professional lead to deliver the Trusts corporate objectives and reflect the Trusts core values.

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of key NHS targets including 18 weeks, A&E ,Cancer pathways, Urgent Community Reponses, Virtual Ward
  • Knowledge and understanding of the modernisation agenda and the opportunities for redesigning services and the tools and techniques for achieving service change
  • The ability to demonstrate in depth knowledge of key policies and themes in healthcare and social care provision in the UK

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of electronic records in relation to patient care, including Electronic Patient Record
  • Breadth of management across healthcare settings
  • Breadth of knowledge of a range electronic patient records e.g. Meditech, SystmOne, PACS

Experience

Essential

  • Operational management experience within an NHS acute/community sector; preferably experience within unplanned/urgent services

  • Significant experience of staff management, including setting of objectives, team and individual appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues

  • Evidence of report writing and presenting skills, to include business cases and formal presentations
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans at service level that enable the attainment of divisional objectives

  • Completed recognised IT course e.g. ECDL/Elite/ MOST
