Job summary

The Role of the Co-ordinator for Biologic & Systemic Therapy is integral to the Dermatology Department for tracking, developing and monitoring the pathways of care for Patients prescribed Biologic or systemic therapies.

The role involves a combination of Nursing support, administrative duties and liaising with Patients, Pharmacy and homecare companies to make a direct and positive contribution to the delivery of the service. The post holder will be able to exercise initiative and judgement when dealing with Patient enquiries, referrals and results, and be able to prioritise accordingly.

This is a demanding but exciting role within the Dermatology Department, working with an established team of Healthcare Professionals.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have current/recent experience of working within a Dermatology department at Band 3 level Administrative or Nursing, with a keen interest and sound knowledge base in Biologic and Systemic therapies for skin conditions.

The main purpose of the role will be to co-ordinate the treatment journeys of Patients on Biologic or systemic therapies utilising a mixture of both Nursing and Administrative skills.

You will provide support to both Nursing and Medical staff by ensuring the smooth running of the clinics through the correct booking pathway.

You will have responsibility for the Administration aspect of the Biologic prescriptions and liaising with homecare companies and Pharmacy.

You will be responsible for the inputting and recording of data provided by Nursing staff and the maintenance of the databases to monitor Patient therapy.

You will work closely with the Nurse Consultant & Specialist Nurses for inflammatory skin, as well as the wider Dermatology team and homecare services, and therefore must be able to forge good working relations, and work cohesively within a fast paced environment.
