Previous Applicants Need Not Apply We are looking to recruit X2 Clinical Coders to join our SmallButMighty Coding Team TRFTCoding Band 5 ACC or Band 4 experienced acute setting NHS Coders. If you have relevant practical Clinical Coding experience using ICD10 and OPCS4.10 classifications we would love to hear from you. Positive team environment Ongoing training and development Onsite parking The right candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic, have strong interpersonal skills, an extensive knowledge of clinical coding standards, rules and conventions, as well as an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology, with NHS cross specialty clinical coding knowledge and skills. You will play a key role in the continual coding improvement across the department and the Trust. You will be responsible for mentoring less experienced staff, engaging with clinicians alongside having a realistic coding workload whilst maintaining high coding standards. The ability to manage your own workload and work as part of the wider team are essential to the role with the expectations of working to departmental and national deadlines. If you currently dont have your ACC status but have demonstrable NHS cross-specialty Coding experience we would be happy to work with you, and our qualified Trainer will support you to work towards attaining your NCCQ
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for providing an accurate, timely and consistent clinical coding service to support the business needs of the Trust in line with departmental and national deadlines. Analyse, interpret and abstract relevant information (including complex conditions and treatments) from the patients' medical record using ICD10 and OPCS Classifications adhering to national and local standards. To provide accurate information to support Healthcare Resource Groups in facilitating the Payment by Results process within the NHS. Mentor less experienced and trainee clinical coders. Responsibility for engaging with external stakeholders including clinical and administrative staff to resolve queries and ensure high accuracy of clinical coding. Maintain accuracy while working under pressure and to deadlines.
