Job summary
We are looking to recruit a new Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute
Medicine and Diabetes & Endocrine someone who shares a passion for high
quality patient care, growth and working with the team; who are keen to join us
in our pursuit of clinical excellence combined with innovative approaches to
person-centred care.
The successful candidate will work across Acute Medicine and our
Diabetes and Endocrine Services including on the Acute Medicine Unit at
Rotherham Hospital which covers a 39 Bedded Medical Admissions Unit, 27 Bedded
Short Stay Unit and includes a Frailty assessment and liaison team, and also on
Ward A5, with an inpatient D&E bed base of 18 (plus outliers) and working
within D&E clinics.

The role of Senior Clinical Fellow within the Acute
Medicine and Diabetes and Endocrine services will comprise a job plan split
across both specialties; including the key duties of attending formal ward rounds
in AMU and D&E, and completing review of ward referrals as needed, and
attending D&E Outpatient clinics as needed.

The Post
We welcome

successful applicant will be expected:
To attend formal
ward rounds in AMU and D&E, and complete review of ward referrals as needed
To attend D&E
Outpatient clinics as required
To attend such
other ward rounds, visits to individual patients, as may be necessary.
To keep such
records as may be required for medical and/or administrative reasons.
To communicate
fully (subject to the overriding factors of confidentiality and the patients
interests) with patients, their relatives, family doctors and other Health and
Social Service colleagues.
To perform duties
in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, at the request of the
appropriate consultant, in consultation where possible with colleagues both
senior and junior. Additional commitments arising under this paragraph are
exception: in particular, the doctor will not be required to undertake work of
this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
Specific
duties entailed will be as decided by the responsible Consultant, and may vary
with the circumstances from time to time, and the developing competence and
interests of the members of the specialty.
