Job summary
The Rotherham Childrens Public Health Nursing Service are looking to recruit dynamic, enthusiastic & motivated Health Visitors (Specialist Community Public Health Nurses -qualified)) with initiative & drive in order to deliver high quality Public Health Nursing, promote healthy lifestyles & improve health inequalities to Children, young people & their families in Rotherham.
You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to collaborative working with a focus on the child, be committed to achieving positive health outcomes for Children & Families in Rotherham, as well as a keen interest in developing services You will need to have excellent communication & organisational skills, be willing to facilitate & support change in service delivery, have the ability to work autonomously & as part of an integrated skill mix team. We offer flexible & agile working options.
An in depth knowledge of the current health agenda within Children's services is essential.
The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of safe, effective & high-quality services to Children, young people & their families - using research-based evidence to inform practice with agreed professional standards. The post will require travel between homes, schools, & community hubs within the Rotherham area.
Main duties of the job
To provide a consistent, effective, accessible and appropriate 0-19 Service for children, young people and their familiesTo work in partnership with agencies and familiesTo signpost to partner agencies where assessed as requiredTo lead the delivery of public health and universal and targeted interventions across the 0-19 years age range for a defined population and will be delivered in line with the National and Local guidelines and public health priorities.The team will work proactively using a partnership approach to promote health and contribute to tackling health inequalities within the level of competencies required for the post.Undertake child health promotion, utilising therapeutic relationships with individuals, families and communitiesIdentify and minimise risk to ensure children are protected and remain safe, working in partnership with families and other agencies.To complete accurate, contemporaneous records on electronic record systems in a timely manner in line with NMC and Trust guidelines and policies.To provide up to date evidenced based care, advice and support to children and their familiesTo work with children, young people and families within the home environment, school or other identified community setting and will need to be able to travel to these locations independently.
