Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen; We are seeking a flexible individual to join the Universal Administration team for the Children's & Young Peoples Service. The apprentice role will be to support the provision of an efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the Child Health and 0-19 services in Rotherham.
You should be able to communicate with staff at all levels, as well as members of the public with confidence and initiative. You will require good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Familiarity of working within a hospital / office environment would be a advantage but not essential.
The successful candidate will be working towards a Business Admin apprenticeship and must achieve set apprenticeship module deadlines.

Main duties of the job
Provide clerical assistance to the department as follows:
- Book appointment over the telephone.
- Support with despatching and distribution of letters
- Sort / distribute incoming and outgoing mail to internal staff, patients and professionals.
- Copy and circulate Paediatric Alerts
- Undertake routine procedures including photocopying as directed.
- There will be a need to deal with telephone enquiries. Should this arise to deal sympathetically, calmly and confidently with telephone enquiries from parents, relatives and other professionals.
- The successful candidate will be working towards a Business Admin apprenticeship and must achieve set apprenticeship module deadlines.
- Ensure equipment is at all times in a satisfactory working condition reporting any faults to the Admin Team Leader.
- Liaise with staff of all disciplines to ensure escalation of problems/issues is expedited to Admin Team Leader to ensure smooth running of the service.
