Job summary

7.5 hours per week

We are looking for an individual to join our team in Cardiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate data capture of key data sets for submission to the national heart failure audit. This is a fixed term post for 6 months working 1 day a week (we are flexible on this day).

Main duties of the job

  • Develop the data needs and subsequent submission of unit data to the databases in a timely manner.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data highlighting omissions and errors, and ensuring these are corrected.
  • Support the service in the development of robust data from the service's electronic database collection and submission of complete and accurate information.
  • Maintains quality and content of data held within information systems
  • Regularly monitor the quality of the data on which the reports are based and validate the information from where possible from other sources

  • Excellent oral, and written communication skills
  • Very good interpersonal skills
  • Use of standard software packages, e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, internet access, email
  • Information governance and data protection requirements and best practices

Desirable

  • Current NHS national policies, standards, and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care

Experience

  • Administration and secretarial support to professional and managerial staff
