Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and efficient individual who enjoys working in a challenging and busy environment. The post holder will provide a high quality general administration service in the Medical Undergraduate team and as part of the Medical Education Team. The Medical Education Department is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost effective medical educational services within the Trust to specifications required by the General Medical Council, Health Education England working across Yorkshire & the Humber, associated Medical Schools and the Trust's strategic and operational framework. The successful applicant will work within the Undergraduate Team in the Medical Education Department. Reporting to the Medical Undergraduate Manager, you will engage with key stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation, to ensure Medical Education is quality assured and successfully delivered. Previous work experience in a health environment is desirable but not essential. This post requires the post holder to be present in the office. Working will be fully office based at Rotherham Hospital within the Medical Education Centre. This is a fixed term role is to backfill due to maternity leave

Main duties of the job

The Medical Undergraduate Administrator will work primarily as part of the Medical Undergraduate Medical Team consisting of the Medical Undergraduate Manager and Medical Undergraduate Co-ordinator to support the Undergraduate programme within The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This involves supporting the planning, coordination and pastoral care for Medical students and Physician Associate Students on placement from University of Sheffield Medical School. They will have a number of key duties and responsibilities in all aspects of organising, coordinating and supporting Medical Students placements. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and team working skills as well as the ability to work on their own initiative. They need to be able to multi-task and quickly adapt to changing situations. You will be computer literate, methodical with an eye for detail, good at multi-tasking and the ability to liaise with health professionals at all levels. The position is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday Friday This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but enthusiastic and busy team in supporting Medical Undergraduate training in Rotherham.
