CT Imaging Lead
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust currently has 3 CT scanners.
On the acute site there is a Siemens Definition AS Plus and a brand new Siemens Drive Dual Source scanner which will be operational from April 2024.
This role will be responsible for utilising new technology provided by a dual source scanner to improve image quality and in turn influence patient flow.
An array of complex CT examinations are carried out including CT Colonography, Cardiac scans and biopsies/drainages. From May 2024 our third CT scanner (Siemens Somatom Go All) is relocating to our CDC at Badsley Moor Lane. The CT Imaging Lead will be involved in this exciting project of setting up a new CT purpose built support unit including establishing new systems of work, governance procedures and staffing workforce models.
The applicant will need to demonstrate experience of managing a specialist department, and have been actively involved in some strategic planning and development of a diagnostic service. They should have experience of actively seeking out and pursuing new initiatives, aimed at service improvement or cost improvement opportunities.
The post holder is expected to have a high level of professional knowledge, hold degree/ post graduate training, with significant experience in Diagnostic Radiography. There is an expectation to support student training, engage in collaborative working opportunities and be receptive to partnership arrangements within SYB and regional footprint.
Main duties of the job
This role is to lead and develop the CT imaging service by providing operational and strategic planning whilst also providing clinical and managerial support to all team members.
The role requires an enthusiastic and motivated approach to drive the CT service forwards.
Implementing change, working towards the trusts visions and operational plan.

- Post graduate qualifications at masters level in CT or extensive PG training and experience to equivalent level.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable
- Trained in I.V Cannulation and to inject contrast media.
- Anaphylaxis Training.
Experience

- Presenting complex information to large groups training staff.
- Previous significant experience working in CT.
- Experience day-to-day organisation and administration of a busy Clinical Service.
- Evidence of up-to-date CPD.
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.

- Significant and recent experience of senior management in the NHS by managing staff following HR policies.
