37.5 hours per week

Working in collaboration with an education provider, this Apprentice post offers structured, work based training and experience to people seeking a career in a Health Care setting. The post supports the achievement of relevant knowledge, skills and qualifications, which enable access into work. This role works in an administrative environment. The post holder will provide administrative support to the Administration team working under the guidance of the Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

This role works in an administrative environment. The post holder will provide administrative support to the Administration team working under the guidance of the Team Leader.

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities:

  • Working as a member of the administrative team, the post holder will provide efficient administration support within the Administration Service. This post will involve dealing with telephone queries.
  • Supports preparing notes
  • Utilises Trust IT systems to assist with data management and electronic records
  • Locate, request and track hospital notes to the department and Health Records Library and file results and correspondence appropriately and within agreed timescales
  • Deal with incoming/outgoing post as per departmental procedures
  • To maintain a good working relationship with members of the multidisciplinary team
  • To maintain a tidy work area and to clean equipment in accordance with departmental protocols
  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times and to comply with departmental policies and procedures
  • With support, the post holder will be assisted to prioritise their workload until they are competent to undertake the task for themselves
  • From time to time the post holder may be allocated other duties by the Service Support Manager commensurate with skill and competence
