Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research Team for an innovative and experienced research nurse, with a passion for operational delivery of clinical research, to join our expanding team.We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Senior Research Nurse to this varied and challenging role. The successful candidate will have leadership experience, excellent communication and organisational skills and a proven record of clinical research delivery and will be self-motivated and driven to offer our patients a service of the highest quality.They will provide management, leadership and supervision for the clinical research team and will be involved in raising the awareness and importance of research within The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This post may also involve some research delivery at Breathing Space in Rotherham.We can offer a friendly working environment with professional support and training/development opportunities. Part time hours considered.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Research Nurse will be expected to provide support, clinical supervision and training. Acting in a lead capacity you will ensure that studies are delivered effectively, efficiently and compliant with GCP and other legislative requirements. The role involves responsibility for ensuring the completion of study related activities in line with research protocols, whilst ensuring the safety of study participants is maintained.The Senior Research Nurse will be instrumental in implementing the team objectives to enhance the performance and development of the research nurses and the wider research team.Working clinically with the team you will promote high standards of both patient care and research practice and facilitate appropriate educational and training opportunities. You will also work collaboratively across the Trust linking in with clinical teams. The post will cover both the inpatient and outpatient setting with the caseload varying in size and complexity according to the trial portfolio.You should be able to adopt a flexible approach to the needs of colleagues, participants, and external collaborators managing multiple team members and representing the research team in internal and external meetings.You must have effective organisational skills and be looking for a new and exciting challenge. You will be managing your own workload and direct the work of others to ensure the team succeeds.
