An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Secretarial Team within General Medicine, working on a flexible home/office rota with colleagues. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys a challenge.
You will be required to work to a high standard of accuracy and have excellent organisational skills. Initiative in planning your own workload in a way that supports the team, in-line with constant changes in demand is essential. You must be flexible and have excellent communication skills.
As part of a team your duties will include audio typing and transcription of clinical correspondence, retrieval of medical notes and answering queries within and outside of the Organisation in a professional manner to patients, senior staff and work colleagues.
The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages, GCSE grade C and above in English and RSA II typing, or equivalent. As the post consists of flexible homeworking, successful candidates will need to show that they have sufficient fast broadband connections and have a suitable place to work at home that complies with DSE Standards.

Main duties of the job
Responsible to the Senior Secretary for the provision of an efficient, secretarial service to the Consultants and supporting medical staff, delivered on a scheduled rota basis from the office or from home.
To be responsible for the typing of Clinic dictations via T-Pro system as well as take and type up clinical governance/MDT minutes. To chase investigations, liaise with internal/external clinical partners to ensure effective patient care.
