We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated technician with wide ranging knowledge and skills of pharmacy processes to join Medicines Governance/Safety/Formulary and Medicines Information Team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT). You will work closely with pharmacy teams and trust teams to ensure that lessons are learnt, risks are minimised, procedures are developed, and are continually monitored to deliver safe, effective, and timely patient care.

Medicines Safety and Improvement is the teams absolute priority. In joining you would play an important role in delivering our department and organisation safety and governance priorities.

There is a structured training plan to support your development.

Main duties of the job

We are committed to keeping our patients safe when we use medicines and deliver this commitment through medication committees: Pharmacy Governance, Medicine Optimisation, Medication Operational and Medication Safety Committee.

You will work with and support the Medication Safety Officer and be an integral part of the team supporting the pharmacy and medicines governance remit, review medication incidents, undertake risk assessments, conduct audits and develop and implement safe medication practices in developing a Trust wide culture for safe use of medicines.

You will act as a role model for junior staff and assist in education and training initiatives. You will have opportunities to undertake relevant courses to support your continued professional development.

  • Demonstrable experience as a senior Pharmacy Technician.

  • Experience of working in Pharmacy.
  • Experience of co-ordinating multiple complex projects/workstreams

  • Maintain own knowledge base and remain up to date with current issues by undertaking continual professional development
  • Excellent understanding of hospital pharmacy
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Pharmacy data and information systems
