Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and highly motivated Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner to join the Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (MSK CATS).We are seeking a clinician who has gained a broad range of postgraduate experience and can manage a specialist caseload of patients including those with complex musculoskeletal pathologies, using evidence-based and patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. This will include ordering appropriate medical investigations and acting on the results in a timely manner.Continued personal development is encouraged and supported within the team and it is expected that you will have an active role in the provision of supervision and peer support for Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, Therapy support staff and students. The post holder will also support the team in a leadership capacity, being a key contributor in the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of the MSK CATS Service

Main duties of the job

To provide an expert Musuloskeletal Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (MSK CATS) including face to face and non-face to face triage and specialised assessment of patients with complex musculoskeletal pathologies.To manage a specialist caseload of patients including those with complex musculoskeletal pathologies, using evidence-based and patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. This will include ordering appropriate medical investigations and acting on the results in a timely manner.To provide clinical leadership and specialist clinical expertise and advice to staff on all aspects of the management of patients with highly complex needs and maintain associated records.To contribute to the development of integrated rehabilitation pathways for relevant services across Primary, Intermediate and Secondary Care and the third sector.To be a key contributor to the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of the MSK CATS Service

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the county and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
  • Post-graduate qualifications relevant to MSK speciality to Masters level or equivalent

Desirable

  • Membership of Professional body

  • Broad post registration clinical experience of working within MSK Services
