The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) are delighted to confirm that we will be supporting an individual to undertake the Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) as part of the 2024 intake

Applications are invited from existing TRFT employees who have up to date evidence of working as a Therapy Support Worker alongside Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapists and who wish to progress to becoming an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.

This is an exciting opportunity, to build on existing experience and gain a nationally recognised degree qualification, whilst continuing to be employed within a foundation trust that provides both hospital and community services across Rotherham.

The university fees will be met through the TRFT apprenticeship levy.

Interviews will be held with both TRFT and SHU to select the successful candidate.

The course commencing in March 2024 will entail specific teaching at SHU in Sheffield, and a range of workplace placements, some of which may be within other local trusts. The course normally takes 2 and a half years, followed by an endpoint assessment which you'll complete within 6 months.

The programme adopts a range of learning methods. The appropriate work experience and placements will be supported across other specialities.
