Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic candidate to join our team of hospital play leaders.
The play leader team provide essential services to patients and their families to minimise the trauma that admission to hospital settings can have. The role also involves contributing to the organisation, supervision, and provision of therapeutic play for children/young people and their families within the trust.
The role of the hospital play leader is prominently based on Childrens Ward and Childrens Assessment Unit and covers all areas of childrens services including Childrens Urgent Emergency Care Centre and Childrens outpatients.
The Hospital play leader team cover 7 days/ week and work between the hours of 07:00 and 20:00Working hours a week: 23 hours over 2-3 days
Main duties of the job
Working as a professional within the childrens and young peoples acute services leading on planning and facilitation of structured play activities appropriate to the childs developmental abilities and to create and provide a child friendly environment.
Distracting children who are attending childrens services in both unplanned and planned care, providing high quality care and patient experience.
Working closely with and supporting children, young people and families with long term conditions requiring longer hospital stays.
