37.5 hours per week

Ward B5 - healthcare of the elderly is a exciting new 24 bed inpatient ward (up to 33 beds under winter pressures) this is a great opportunity to join our new team.

We are a new supportive, hard working, friendly team with a desire to deliver and develop high standards of quality care and to move our service forward. Nurses looking for an exciting challenge and wealth of learning opportunities are invited to join our new nursing workforce on ward B5. As a new member of the team you will be fully supported by the team.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, safe patient care by assessment of patient need and the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate care programmes.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the physical, social and psychological condition of the patient and /or carer from admission to discharge.

Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework for nursing.

Discuss and agree short, medium or long term goals, prioritise care and develop plans with the patient, family carer and health care team.

Support patients/carers encouraging them to promote their own health and wellbeing and to express their interests and concerns.

Provide support and care for the patient and his/her family respecting their need for privacy and dignity.
