The Facilities department is looking for a new Domestic supervisor to join their established team. Working 2pm - 8pm Monday to Friday.
The supervisor is responsible for the day to day running of the Domestic Assistants within the Facilities Department. The duties include the supervision & leadership of teams of staff covering the hospital sites. They will also be responsible for carrying a dept telephone and be the most senior person on duty within the department on both weekends and bank holidays.
To meet the requirements of the post, the Domestic Supervisor will be required to work flexible hours occasionally to cover for other supervisors.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a patient centred environment and facilities service to meet the needs of the patients experience
- Carry out Cleaning audits in line with National standards of Cleanliness.
- Line management of facilities staff ensuring that behavioural, professional and technical standards are maintained.
- Able to motivate staff and demonstrate leadership
- To assist the Facilities Manager/ Monitoring Officer in the recruitment of external and internal facilities staff.
- Liaise with wards/departments regarding changes to cleaning schedules/times/staffing issues and ward moves.
- Complete weekly staff rotas using the annual leave allocation book.
- Book staff on to training sessions liaising with learning and Development and Estates & Facilities training team.
- Manage Sickness absence
- Carry out Personal development plans with staff
